Not much to say but its freakin' Deadpool! So I will explain the whole idea behind my newest pics. These were all for netcandi.com's Halloween party "Naughty Nights 4: Heroes Ball." One of the main guys with the website got a hold of me and wanted me to draw a shit load of Character posters from Marvel and DC. So I did...but I have yet to see what became of any of these pics. Once I know I'll let my curious fans in on the updates!
UPDATE: If you think your eyes are fooling you...they're not! I have re colored my Deadpool! I made his lines crisper, added my signature, re-colored his sword and made it straighter and oh yeah, a minor addition: instead of his second sword in his right hand I gave him a big @$$ gun to wave around! Hope you all enjoy the new changes! This print will be available at Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo June 17-19!
The first thing I noticed was the excellent use of foreshortening. Foreshortening is my nightmare and my insecurity, so I always scrutinize other artists for clues. I love how you managed to make the sword believably foreshortened without having it just disappear, the way it will in most photographs.
Of course, the next most obvious thing about this picture is that it is supposed to be of Deadpool, and it looks like Deadpool! I honestly tried drawing him once and made a flop of those black circles around his eyes. So obviously you've practiced. The muscle structure and the shade of red he is, to me, is perfect. I hate it when artists choose a cold red for his costume, when warm red (like you've done here) suits him much better.
The only thing I find out of place for me when I look at this picture is that in contrast to the way Deadpool and the sword are done, the gun in his other hand is near photographic. Therefore it stands out as something you replaced, that was not in the original picture.
